VOLUNTEER & SUPPORT OPPORTUNITIES
First Friday Lunch - February 7

The Baked Potato Bar is back!  Please help us show the amazing West Sylvan teachers and staff how much we appreciate them by clicking here to select a food item to bring for the table, or donating to the effort.

New to West Sylvan and wondering what First Friday is all about?  You can read more about this monthly staff appreciation tradition here.

Thank you for your help with keeping this amazing tradition alive!  It couldn’t happen without help from all of you.

All food contributions should be delivered to the main office by 9:15 on Friday, Feb 7th.  Items can be homemade or store-bought.

Questions? Contact us: wsfirstfridaylunch@gmail.com

Valentine's Day Cookie Volunteers!

Help our scholars celebrate Valentine's Day by volunteering to hand out treats during lunch! A great way to get a peek at life at West Sylvan and a small ask of your time (each shift is just 50 minutes). Thanks for your support! Sign up for a shift here.

Support Student MYP Community Projects

Eighth grade students in Ms Campbell's community projects class are working to give the student affinity space a makeover, creating a welcoming gathering space for all students. Check out their poster below and visit schoolpay.com to help support their efforts!

Welcome Future Wolves!

5th Grade Family Nights are underway! Catch up on information for incoming families in the WSMS presentation shared on Monday, January 27 or submit a 5th-to-6th grade transition question to the counseling staff here.

PARENT EDUCATION

Thank you National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Multnomah for the important information shared on youth mental health and wellness during the Ending the Silence presentation, part of our Coffee Talk on January 17. Our facilitators shared the following resources for parents and caregivers of young adults:

  1. Warning Signs of Mental Health Conditions
  2. Starting the Conversation: Tips on Talking About Mental Health
  3. Language Matters
  4. Youth Mental Health Resources

Visit NAMI's resource page for access to additional information and support.
