Clean Out the House : Help Out the Band!

Join us at our 4th annual community clean out, hosted by the band to raise the necessary operating funds that keep our program thriving. Every year, the band program fundraises $7500, which is used to pay for sheet music and supplies for class, transportation to various festivals and events, an ensemble t-shirt for every participating student, and more. We know West Sylvan families value this program and it depends on family and community support, especially during our largest effort in the fall.

How to Help

Open up those closets and make a pile of your outgrown, unused, or retired items. Stop by West Sylvan Middle School on October 19 and responsibly recycle your items with our partner vendors. Enjoy live performances from students while you make your donation! 

What to Donate

• Gently used clothing and linens with Clothes4Cash 
• Used books with Daedalus Books (especially paperbacks, no library books please!)
• Electronic waste with LV Electronics (computers, monitors, laptops, accessories, phones, tablets, small appliances, anything with a cord!)
• Oregon redemption eligible beverage containers with BottleDrop 

We are also collecting winter coats for Rose Haven, a day shelter and community center for women and children experiencing homelessness and poverty in our city. All coats should be clean and in good repair, with working zippers and snaps, etc. 

Have time on October 19? 

Please encourage your band student to volunteer with Mr. Arce as a performer or collection station captain! We welcome all adults to sign up for a volunteer shift to help supervise students as they run collection stations. This form also includes opportunities to volunteer all year!
