Houselessness and hunger are a very real issue in Portland that impacts members of our West Sylvan Middle School community. The need for holiday outreach baskets is greater than ever and we need your help! Please consider volunteering your time and resources to make someone’s holiday brighter!
WE WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT 30+ FAMILIES IN OUR WSMS COMMUNITY THIS YEAR!
Details:
- Each basket will contain a variety of non-perishable holiday and general food items to help families feed their children during the vacation week along with a gift card for perishable food.
- Volunteer families are paired with an anonymous outreach family they will shop for.
- A suggested shopping list will be provided.
- Food Basket drop off is at West Sylvan Middle School:
- Monday, November 18th (9-11am) or Tuesday, November 19th (4:30-6pm)
- Drop off location is at the side doors near the Upper Gym across from the Tennis Courts.
- Food Baskets will be distributed confidentially by the West Sylvan Counseling department.
Ready to assist? There are two ways to support our families:
1. If you would like to volunteer to provide a holiday basket for a family, please contact Pat Greene at pjsgreene@gmail.com.
2. Donate towards the gift cards needed for perishable items here.
